MATT RIVERA - DIRECTOR & COACH

Matt Rivera is the Varsity Head Coach at Sachem North H.S.  In his 10 years as Head Coach the Sachem Program has won 3 Division Titles, a County Championship, a Long Island Championship and the 2014 NYS Championship.  Coach Rivera is a 4 time recipient of the Suffolk County Coach of the Year Award and was named the 2014 Newsday Long Island Coach of the Year. He has coached at the club level for the LI Blaze Volleyball club and LIVBC.  Most recently leading the 16 National team to a National Top 10 ranking in 2014.  In addition, Coach Rivera served as an Assistant Coach for the Long Island Region Men’s Open team in the Empire State Games.  He has served for 6 years as the President of the Suffolk County Boys Volleyball Coaches Association and is an active member of the AVCA.  Coach Rivera played Varsity Volleyball at Sachem HS for Bill Kropp and played at the collegiate level for the University of Maryland.

12 Years – MS Boys Volleyball (Seneca)
